The Eucalyptus named release, the 5th release of the open edX platform by edX, has been officially released.

New Features in open edX eucalyptus

This new release contains some exciting new features such as:

  • Improvements to the course navigation structure.
  • 3 mew applications for the LMS.
  • Bookmarks, to allow learners to store their preferred resources inside a course.
  • Teams, for small group discussions.
  • Student notes, to allow learners to highlight course content and make personal notes that will help them remember and understand the subject better.
  • Self pacing configuration for courses
  • New and better e-commerce capabilities
  • Improvements to insights.
